THANKS TO MARK PAYNE.

THE ON THE BUSES EVENT

I would like to thank ALL those who helped get the ON THE BUSES event on the road. (pun intended)

Thanks to our VIP guests Ronnie Wolfe and Ronnie Chesney who created and wrote ON THE BUSES. For attending the movie, signing autographs, posing for photos with fans and answered questions.
Plus it was a pleasure to meet their wives and family.

Thanks to special guest Harry Fielder 'Aitch' who was in an extra in ON THE BUSES and been in loads of other TV and films for attending and signing autographs and answering questions.

Bravo! to Dean the owner of Sullivan Buses who went more than the extra mile and provided us with the Routemaster's and put so much work in arranging the locations tour and material, with thanks also to Steve Simmonds for his part and of course Gemma and Conductor Lee Saunders.

Paul Welsh (James Bond stunt double) from the Town Council who I first approached about the event and has  given valuable assistance and input. Plus thanks to Bob Redman who along with Paul work hard saving the Heritage of the film studios and put on a great Town and Film Festival.
"We enjoyed having the on the buses fans visiting our town. Movie tourism is something that we like to encourage as this town has such a unique film and tv heritage."
Paul Welsh  MBE
Elstree Council Entertainments Officer and Elstree Studios historian

Bob the caretaker at Fairway Hall.

To Rob one of the tour guides who has a wealth of knowledge on locations of Borehamwood and Elstree film history. I can see a part time career looming for Bob as a 'FILM AND TV LOCATIONS GUIDE' for Elstree and Borehamwood.

To Craig who runs the ON THE BUSES forum and came up with the idea of the walking tour and dug out further locations.

The other helpers Mark, Pat, Chris and Dave who was also dressed in conductors uniform giving out bus tickets.  My son for being a  great Tea Boy on the day.

The staff and management at Reel Cinema,

To the staff at Elstree and Borehamwood Museum for putting on a special display and staying open longer for us on the day.

To BBC 3 Counties Radio and Elstree and Borehamwood Times for the coverage.

The folk of Borehamwood and Elstree who put up with fans photographing the locations.

Finally to you the fans who made all the hard work worthwhile,
thanks for being on board.

I learnt a lot from this event and  would liked to have spent more time chatting to you all but found myself rather busy. So with that in mind next years event

ITV 3 are starting up their re-runs of On the Buses again on July 8th, starting from where they left off earlier in the year. There will be two episodes shown back to back each weekday at 8.00am/8.30am and repeated later each day at 3.00pm/3.30pm (of course if you have ITV 3 +1 you can watch each episode an hour later if required).

Example;

July 8th   Self Defence  8.00am (ITV 3 +1  9.00am)
July 8th   Aunt Maud    8.30am  (ITV 3+1  9.30am)

July 8th   Self Defence  3.00pm (ITV 3+1  4.00pm)
July 8th   Aunt Maud    3.30pm  (ITV 3 +1  4.30pm)

They seem to be going on with this same weekday schedule well into the Season Three episodes and hopefully beyond.
Thanks to Garry Jones, Port Talbot, South Wales

Now we have got all the ON THE BUSES episodes on DVD, its time to try and get
'DON'T DRINK THE WATER' released.
It starred Stephen Lewis and Pat Coombs
