My name is Neil Rees and I live in Chesham, Bucks.
I have been a long time fan of On The Buses and I possess the On The Buses board game.   When I was younger I used to watch On The Buses with my parents.  It was my favourite programme along with The Goodies and later the Two Ronnies. As On The Busses stopped being shown I progressed onto Russ Abbott and then in more recent years Father Ted and Ali G. I like to have themed parties for my birthday.  Last year it was a James Bond party.

For my birthday last year I was given a DVD which is an omnibus edition of the 3 On The Buses films.  This inspired me for a theme for the next birthday party.  The party was for my 37th birthday and was held at my home in Chesham.  The party was attended by about 50 people mainly local friends and neighbours, of all ages. Amongst the group were many who were too young to remember On The Buses and a number of overseas friends who had never seen On The Buses in their home countries.  My omnibus DVD of the 3 On The Buses films ran continuously throughout the party in my lounge, and from time to time I explained the characters to people unfamiliar with the cast and plots.

In my dining-room the music played during the party was strictly of the 1970s genre particularly my favourites Smokie, Blondie and Gerry Raffety.

The front door was labelled "The Bus Depot".   The kitchen was labelled "The Canteen" and the toilet was labelled "Drivers and Clippies Only".  The red double-decker birthday cake was made by Kirsty Crombie Smith of Chesham.  The wheels were made from liquorice wheels and the passengers were jelly babies.

"Blakey" was my friend Michael Hartley (his middle name does not start with J) from Birmingham and the Clippy was Kirsty Crombie Smith from Chesham.  Tickets were also taken by my Czech friend Lenka.  The ticket machine came from eBay!

That's really made my day that has.

All the best
Neil Rees
